A basic of all MUAs skills, new make up artists can have major misses when matching lipstick colours to eyeshadow colours to individual models, even creating a less than perfect look. Sometimes creating more of a 'finger painting' effect that an effortlessly pulled off look of the glossy magazine pages.
Although all models are individual, the theories remain the same.

First, consider the colour wheel, opposite sides of the colour wheel compliment each other, and also cancel each other out. Blue/Orange, Purple/Yellow/Red/Green

For the face:

Green: Green concealers cancel out red skin tones, applied and covered correctly can make red skin appear flawless.

Yellow concealers help cover redness and purple bruises, broken veins, discolouration under the eye.

Orange concealers, often more wearable in salmon colours help hide the blueish undertones some models have under their eyes, models with multiple skin complaints can even go as far as needing all three coloured concealers before the application of fleshtone concealer and foundation.

For your eyes.
All make up artists know that purples and bring out brown and green eyes, blues bring out brown eyes and all blue eyed girls call get away with almost anything, especially smokey browns.

Brown eyed girls should go for light vibrant colours, or darker colour with alot of depth to emphasize their beautiful brown eyes, try adding a blue or teal eyeliner to bring out the colour in a more subtle way. (Mac carbon eyeshadow, Mac Canary Yellow Eyeshadow, Mac Humid eyeshadow)

Blue eyed girls should go for more sultry browns during the day (Mac omega, Woodwinked, Satin Taupe) , but can mix it up with pinks at night to emphasize their eyes, If you eyes are more icy blue warm them up with a warm toned pink (Macs post haste, Passionate, or Sushi Flower) And for girls with darker eyes, blend Macs Girlie over the entire lid, mixing with Post Haste for a warmer pink in the crease, or Nocturnelle for a smokey purple.) If your feeling daring, go for it with Orange eyeshadow for real eyepopping colours. (Macs Orange)

If you have green eyes, you should be wearing purple for the most show stopping eyes. Examine your eyes, how deep are they? The darker they are, the lighter the colour behind it should be, if you have almost blueish green eyes, id go back to the blue eye tips and pick up some ideas. My recommendations for green eyes are Macs Parfait Amoure, which is a beautiful lilac colour or Macs Nocturnelle if you feel like a darker, both can be blended together or with Mac Carbon (a deep matt black) for a night time look.

Girls with Hazel eyes can wear almost anything! You can wear blues to make your eyes appear browner, or purples to bring out the green!

For the lips:
If you are concerned about the colour of your teeth (i know i am, i drink far too much coffee) Opt for a blue tone lipstick, the best colours for making your teeth look spotless and sparkling are Blue toned reds (Mac cockney, Ruby Woo, Russian Red) and pinks (Pink Plaid, Speed Dial, love lorn) or Rasperry colours ( Mac Craving)

Id say go for a bronzey gold colour that compliments both eye coloues. My recommendations would be Macs Bronze or Mac Woodwinked, both have a bronzey gold sheen to them, for the day wear them lightly on the lid and blend the edges, at night smoke it out with a deep black like Mac Carbon, and line your eyes with black gel or liquid eyeliner to draw attention to them!
